TRENDZ RESPONSIBILITIES

What are we doing for the environment?

My goal, as an owner of a  facility were guests come to relax and feel beautiful, is to become as environmentally safe as possible.  I feel that TRENDZ has a responsibility to do as much as we can to beautify the world we live in.  TRENDZ is constantly buying and partnering with product companies that support our mission

TRENDZ the salon spa & beauty boutique is proud to use and recommend AVEDA hair, skin, and makeup products.  AVEDA isn't one of those companies that just claims to be natural.  It actually IS a company that cares about the environment and they prove that in EVERYTHING they do.  There are so many things that set them apart, but a few of those things are that AVEDAis one of the Worlds largest purchaser of certified organics in the personal care industry.  AVEDA is the first Beauty company to manufacturing with 100% Wind power. AVEDA is Green-e certified.  There products are Paraben Free.  Avedas candles have never contained paraffin, they are soy wax, the jar is 95% post consumer recycled and are lead free.  The new makeup line is 100% created from the earth.

Empowered by its unique  Mission, AVEDAbelieves that authentic beauty is one that works in harmony with the greater web of life.  It does not qualify as beauty if it hurts any of the diverse life forms that the best beauty artist of all, Nature, created.  Authentic Beauty cares for the environment which we inherited from elders and will leave to generations that follow us.  Beauty cares for the society in which we live, enhancing harmony in the way we live and interact with one another as human beings. In order to be Beauty, it also needs to be Good. Beauty is the result, but also the process followed in pursuing that result.

At Aveda, beauty and a responsibility for the planet both take center stage. The brand specializes primarily in hair care, but also carries the following products: Skin Care, Cosmetics, Fragrances, Body Care Spa, and Wellness

All products are formulated with sustainable, organic or renewable plant-based ingredients, as well as non-petroleum minerals. The company prides itself on its use of ethical ingredients (such as rose geranium from South Africa and rose and lavender from Bulgaria), innovative, easy-to-decipher packaging, and support of ecosystem projects around the world. These details mean one thing for Aveda: the company is one with a purpose, and as it strives to enhance beauty and stimulate the senses, so too it works to create an environment in which both of these will be possible for years to come

Said simply, "Beauty Is As Beauty Does."

Why should you be proud to visit TRENDZ the salon spa & beauty boutique?

TRENDZ strives to practice environmentally safe practices.

The AVEDA Haircolor is 97% Naturally Derived and is all we use.

TRENDZ uses all fluorescent lighting in our facility.

Completely eliminating the use of paper products is a long term goal. - We have eliminated about 200 paper cups per month and switched to glass coffee  mugs.  We have eliminated at least 8 rolls of paper towels each month by replacing them with washcloths.

TRENDZ has replaced old washers and dryers with NEW High Efficiency models.

TRENDZ works with companies that take care of and give back to the environment.

TRENDZ participates in Earth Day every year by collecting money and selling candles that completly benefit the project.

Bella Lucce(our bath and body products)  has built the spirit of philanthropy into the very foundation of the company. From its very first day in operation, Bella Luccè has focused on sourcing fair-trade ingredients, which ensure that local farmers, harvesters and processors are paid fair, working wages for their efforts without exploitation. Additionally, we have partnered with various charitable organizations, working to alleviate hunger and poverty, provide literacy and skills training, and build character and confidence in people around the world.  Bella lucce is Paraben Free, Certified Carbon Balanced, uses only recycled plastics, actively source organic and fair trade ingredients whenever possible,

Bella Luccè is a proud member of the Organic Trade Association, Co-op America and the Green Products Alliance.

Pay it forward and teach your children to walk softly on the earth. One of Bella Lucce's favorite websites is the Environmental Kids Club, http://www.epa.gov/kids/ where children can play games, download activity books and color pictures as they learn about the delicate world around them. Really ready to get serious? Consider going meat-free a few days per week or abandoning meat consumption all together. A recent UN report found that raising livestock contributes more towards global warming than all the cars in the world combined. Scary, but true.
